About the Role
African Natural Resources & Mines Limited (ANRML) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mining Engineer to join our expanding mining operations team in Gujeni, Kaduna State. As part of African Industries Group, we are committed to sustainable mining practices that power our backward integration strategy for steel production. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in coordinating daily mining activities, optimizing resource utilization, and driving operational excellence across our active sites.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily surface mining operations to achieve ambitious production targets.
- Oversee critical activities including drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, hauling, and material transport.
- Prepare and implement effective short-term mine production plans and operational schedules.
- Monitor equipment productivity, availability, and overall efficiency while ensuring optimum utilization of manpower and machinery.
- Collaborate closely with geology, surveying, and maintenance teams to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure seamless workflows.
- Enforce strict compliance with Nigerian mining regulations, environmental standards, and internal workplace safety policies.
- Conduct routine safety inspections of active mining zones and maintain accurate daily production and equipment records.
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related geosciences discipline.
- Minimum of 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience in open-cast mining operations, mine planning, and production monitoring.
- Strong working knowledge of drilling, blasting, and heavy earthmoving equipment management.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot operational challenges and implement cost-saving process improvements.
- Excellent communication, team coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to reside at or commute reliably to the project site in Gujeni, Kaduna State.
