About the Role
Genesis Specialist Hospital, a leading surgical center in Lagos renowned for its state-of-the-art operating rooms and comprehensive surgical services, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Officer to join its clinical team in Ikeja. This full-time, on-site role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced consultants and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, patient-focused hospital environment.
The successful candidate will provide direct patient care across critical care and surgical units, supporting pre-operative and post-operative management while ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Support surgical teams in pre-operative and post-operative patient management.
- Monitor and manage patients in the intensive care unit (ICU).
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary case reviews and clinical discussions.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records.
- Ensure strict adherence to clinical protocols and hospital guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with consultants, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in continuous medical education, training, and mentoring of junior staff.
- Provide patient education to promote safe, effective, and informed care.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with a valid license to practice in Nigeria.
- Strong foundation in clinical medicine, including diagnosis and evidence-based treatment.
- Demonstrated competence in patient care, particularly in critical care, surgical patients, and pain management.
- Postgraduate training or specialization is an added advantage.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Experience mentoring or training junior medical staff is desirable.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.
