About the Role
May & Baker Nigeria Plc, Nigeria's premier pharmaceutical manufacturing company with a rich heritage dating back to 1944, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team at our Ikeja facility in Lagos State. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the seamless operation of our cutting-edge manufacturing plants, contributing to the production of high-quality pharmaceutical and healthcare products that improve the well-being of Nigerians.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on various production equipment and the water bottling plant to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct regular periodic checks and inspections as specified in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults promptly to minimize downtime and prevent production delays.
- Assist the Mechanical Engineer in executing planned preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure all mechanical interventions comply with safety guidelines and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, equipment status, and spare parts usage.
- Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience within a reputable pharmaceutical manufacturing company or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, industrial machinery, and utility plants.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively under pressure.
