About the Role
Sagar Vitaceuticals Nigeria Limited, a renowned household name in the Nigerian pharmaceutical and healthcare industry known for trusted brands like Vitaclox and Inbu, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer. Based at our ultra-modern manufacturing facility in Ikeja, Lagos, this role is vital for maintaining the seamless operation of our production lines, utility systems, and facility infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance on pharmaceutical production and packaging machinery, including tablet presses and blister packers.
- Monitor, service, and maintain critical facility utility systems such as HVAC, steam boilers, air compressors, and water treatment systems (RO/WFI).
- Ensure all engineering activities strictly comply with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), WHO standards, and internal HSE protocols.
- Participate in the installation, commissioning, and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new manufacturing and utility equipment.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Electrical teams to troubleshoot faults, resolve bottlenecks, and minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, equipment performance, and calibration schedules.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc / B.Eng) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience within a pharmaceutical, food processing, or FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Professional certification such as COREN registration or active membership in relevant bodies is an added advantage.
- In-depth technical knowledge of cGMP standards, cleanroom mechanical requirements, and rotating equipment troubleshooting.
