About the Role

Jamub Group, a diversified and non-cyclical conglomerate operating across Business to Business (B2B), Business to Government (B2G) and Business to Consumer (B2C) markets, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mason to join its construction team. This role is central to the successful delivery of structural and finishing works on our various project sites, requiring hands-on expertise in block-laying, plastering, concrete work and general masonry craftsmanship. The ideal candidate will bring precision, consistency and a strong commitment to safety in every task performed.

As a Mason at Jamub Group, you will play a key role in ensuring that all masonry works meet approved technical drawings and specifications, contributing directly to the quality, durability and aesthetic standard of our construction projects. You will work closely with site engineers, HSE officers and other artisans to maintain smooth workflow and adherence to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lay blocks and bricks in accordance with approved drawings, ensuring correct alignment, plumb, level and proper bonding.
  • Apply plaster, render and screed finishes to walls and floors, achieving a smooth, true and durable surface.
  • Prepare mortar and concrete mixes using correct ratios, ensuring proper curing of all completed masonry works.
  • Ensure all masonry works are executed to specification, minimising rework and material wastage.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) protocols at all times.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required on site.
  • Participate actively in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Promptly report hazards, near-misses or incidents to the Site Engineer or HSE Officer.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Collaborate effectively with other artisans, site supervisors and engineers to ensure project milestones are met.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience working as a Mason on construction or building sites.
  • Strong knowledge of block-laying, plastering, rendering, screeding and concrete finishing techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Good understanding of correct mortar and concrete mix ratios.
  • Sound knowledge of HSE practices and willingness to follow safety guidelines strictly.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in an outdoor construction environment.
  • Trade certification or apprenticeship completion in masonry is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
