About the Role
Zayith Food Company is a prominent Lagos-based dairy manufacturing startup specializing in clean-label, high-quality, and nutritious cultured dairy products. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Officer (Mechanical) to join our growing manufacturing operations team. The ideal candidate will ensure the optimal performance and reliability of production equipment through routine servicing, preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and effective troubleshooting to minimize downtime and support uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs of production machinery, including mixers, chillers, pasteurizers, and packaging equipment.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and minimize unexpected breakdowns.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and execute timely repairs to reduce production downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Monitor equipment condition and performance, recommending necessary repairs, replacements, or mechanical improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, machine downtime, and spare parts usage.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and equipment performance reports.
- Monitor critical spare parts inventory and coordinate timely replenishment with the procurement team.
- Support the maintenance of facility utilities, including water systems, plumbing, and other mechanical installations.
- Supervise external contractors during assigned maintenance, servicing, and installation activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with workplace safety procedures and HSE standards during all maintenance operations.
- Minimum of a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
- Hands-on expertise in maintaining industrial production machinery and equipment.
- Solid knowledge of preventive maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, and equipment repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and fault-diagnosis skills.
