About the Role

Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, seeks an experienced Litigation and Dispute Resolution Specialist to support the management of litigation and dispute resolution matters while protecting the company's legal and commercial interests. Based in Lagos, you will monitor cases, provide legal analysis, coordinate with internal teams and external counsel, and ensure timely resolution of disputes across our manufacturing, logistics, and real estate operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal analysis and advice on dispute resolution and litigation matters to support informed decision-making
  • Monitor and assess the impact of new laws and regulatory developments on company operations
  • Manage litigation and dispute resolution matters, including Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to investigate disputes and escalate complex matters appropriately
  • Support preparation and presentation of the company's legal position in proceedings
  • Coordinate relationships with external counsel and regulatory bodies for efficient service delivery
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and maintain accurate case documentation
  • Review and respond to claims, demand letters, and legal notices with timely action
  • Prepare periodic reports on litigation status, risks, and outcomes
  • Support debt recovery initiatives and contract-related disputes

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) qualification and active practice rights in Nigeria
  • Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) required
  • Minimum 8 years' post-qualification legal experience
  • At least 5 years' practical litigation and dispute resolution experience in top-tier law firms or multinational organizations
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian civil procedure rules, case law, and court processes
  • Experience in manufacturing, multinational, or energy sector environments preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal documentation systems
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Master's degree in Law (LL.M) is advantageous
