About the Role
Owolabi University is a newly established private university located in Oke-Ila Orangun, Osun State, currently operating from its take-off site in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. Licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on June 29, 2026, our institution was built by Bishop Felix Owolabi and Right Rev'd Dr. (Mrs.) Temitayo Owolabi to widen access to quality higher education and prepare graduates for a fast-changing world. We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Lecturer II in Economics to join our esteemed Faculty of Management and Social Science.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate lectures, seminars, and tutorials in various branches of Economics.
- Design, update, and develop comprehensive course materials and curricula aligned with NUC standards.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, dissertations, and academic advising for students.
- Conduct high-quality, impactful academic research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university committee meetings as well as community service initiatives.
- Assess and grade student assignments, quizzes, and examinations promptly and fairly.
- Possession of a PhD Degree in Economics from a reputable and recognized university.
- Demonstrated post-qualification full-time relevant teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- Strong evidence of scholarly publications in reputable local and international academic journals.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with a passion for student mentorship.
