About the Role
SPIE Oil & Gas Services is seeking an experienced Lead Safety Engineer to oversee and coordinate all Safety Engineering and Risk Management activities throughout EPC execution phases through to project close-out. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned safety professional to join a globally recognized leader in oil and gas technical services, contributing to the safe design and delivery of major offshore facilities.
As the Service Holder, you will ensure that all safety-related studies, risk assessments, design reviews and safety deliverables are executed to the highest technical and regulatory standards, while promoting Safety-in-Design principles across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the safe design of offshore facilities in line with Company requirements, project specifications and international standards.
- Coordinate and supervise safety engineering activities performed by EPC Contractors and specialized Consultants.
- Review, consolidate and approve safety engineering deliverables in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and oversee HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS, QRA, Fire and Explosion Risk Assessments, Fire & Gas Detection Studies, EERA, Dropped Object Studies, Bow-Tie Analyses, SIL Assessments, TRA and ALARP Demonstrations.
- Maintain the Safety Action Register and ensure close-out of recommendations from safety studies and reviews.
- Support development and maintenance of Major Accident Hazard Registers and manage Safety Critical Elements and Performance Standards.
- Review design modifications and technical deviations, assessing their impact on the project risk profile.
- Manage interfaces with Process Engineering, Layout and Asset Design, Instrumentation and Control, Installation and Construction, Commissioning, and Operations and Maintenance teams.
- Support procurement activities including review of technical requisitions, specifications and vendor documentation.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests, technical audits and readiness reviews.
- Support construction and installation teams on safety engineering matters, including SIMOPS studies and constructability reviews.
- Provide safety engineering support during offshore campaigns as required.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Safety Engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project and project management roles.
- Strong background in Detailed Engineering and EPC execution phases for onshore and offshore facilities.
- Experience in installation engineering, commissioning, and deepwater or shallow-water offshore development.
- Familiarity with international standards including DNV, API, ISO and Company specifications.
- Prior experience managing EPC Contractors and multidisciplinary project interfaces.
- Familiarity with TotalEnergies standards is an advantage.
