About the Role
LS Scientific, a leading provider of laboratory solutions in Nigeria, is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Laboratory Analyst – Microbiologist to join our dynamic team in Ikeja, Lagos. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering reliable testing services across diverse sectors, including food and beverage, water, pharmaceuticals, and environmental health, helping our clients achieve exceptional quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, prepare, and analyse samples for microbiological testing using approved standard methods.
- Conduct microbial enumeration, isolation, identification, and pathogen detection across various sample types.
- Prepare culture media, reagents, and laboratory materials in strict accordance with approved procedures.
- Perform aseptic techniques, incubation, sterilization, and environmental monitoring.
- Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain microbiological laboratory equipment.
- Record, interpret, and report test results accurately and within agreed turnaround times.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Support method verification, validation, proficiency testing, and biological waste disposal procedures.
- Provide reasonable support with chemistry analysis when required under appropriate training and authorization.
- BSc or HND in Microbiology or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in a testing laboratory.
- Demonstrated practical expertise in microbiological testing, sample preparation, and documentation.
- Strong understanding of laboratory quality control, GLP, and ISO/IEC 17025 principles.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies, such as IPAN, with a valid practising licence is a strong advantage.
