About the Role
Dabitos Schools, a reputable private co-educational institution in Ilasamaja, Mushin, Lagos, is looking to hire a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Attendant. This role is vital in ensuring that the school's science laboratories are well-maintained, properly equipped, and safe for students and teachers during practical sessions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of laboratory tools, chemicals, and equipment, while providing valuable support to science teachers and students throughout experiments and demonstrations.
As a Lab Attendant at Dabitos Schools, you will play a key role in fostering a conducive learning environment for students studying subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You will work closely with teaching staff to prepare materials ahead of lessons, maintain accurate records of laboratory inventory, and ensure that all safety protocols are strictly observed. Key Responsibilities- Prepare laboratory apparatus, chemicals, and specimens ahead of scheduled practical classes
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and proper storage of all laboratory equipment and materials
- Assist teachers and students during laboratory sessions and experiments
- Monitor and manage inventory of laboratory consumables, ensuring timely restocking
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and hygiene standards within the laboratory
- Report damaged, faulty, or missing equipment to the appropriate school authority
- Support in setting up and dismantling equipment before and after use
- Maintain proper documentation of laboratory usage and equipment records
- Assist in the disposal of laboratory waste in line with safety guidelines
- SSCE, OND, or equivalent qualification in a Science-related field
- Previous experience working in a school laboratory or similar environment is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
