About the Role
District 9 Branded Residences (Velmonti Palace), Abuja's upcoming landmark ultra-luxury destination, is opening its doors for world-class hospitality talent! We are currently seeking a meticulous and hardworking Kitchen Steward & Dishwasher to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth, hygienic, and efficient operation of our world-class kitchens, supporting our chefs in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our esteemed guests.
Key Responsibilities- Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, and pans promptly and to the highest standards of cleanliness.
- Maintain absolute cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, kitchen floors, storage rooms, and waste disposal units.
- Assist culinary staff with basic food preparation tasks, kitchen cleaning, and equipment maintenance as requested.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment, including commercial dishwashers, is operated safely and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Adhere strictly to local health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and waste.
- Support fellow team members across the food and beverage department to ensure seamless service delivery during peak operational hours.
- Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or relevant vocational training in hospitality or food service.
- Proven previous experience working as a kitchen steward, dishwasher, or in a similar sanitation role within a hotel or restaurant.
- Deep understanding of commercial kitchen hygiene, safety protocols, and proper dishwashing techniques.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent teamwork, reliability, attention to detail, and a positive, hardworking attitude.
- Good communication skills and the flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
