About the Role
Colossus Investment Limited, a leading agro produce export firm with nearly three decades of impact in Nigeria's agricultural value chain, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Officer to oversee its Engineering Spare Parts Store. This role is critical to ensuring the timely availability of spare parts, maintenance tools, equipment components, lubricants, and consumables that support the company's preventive and corrective maintenance operations.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, minimizing carrying costs, and ensuring that all engineering materials are properly received, stored, and issued in line with approved work orders. Key Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and properly store engineering spare parts and maintenance materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all spare parts and maintenance consumables.
- Classify spare parts into critical, essential, and routine categories.
- Monitor minimum, maximum, and reorder stock levels to prevent stock-outs.
- Issue spare parts based on approved maintenance work orders.
- Maintain a comprehensive spare parts catalogue linked to each machine and equipment.
- Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with inventory records.
- Monitor obsolete, slow-moving, and non-moving inventory and recommend appropriate actions.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Department to forecast spare parts requirements.
- Ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage and deterioration of materials.
- Prepare monthly spare parts inventory and consumption reports.
- Support annual maintenance planning through inventory analysis.
- Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards within the engineering spare parts store.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years' experience managing engineering stores or maintenance inventory in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering spare parts management and inventory control systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP or inventory management software is an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
