About the Role
Genesis Group, Nigeria's leading Catering, Hospitality & Entertainment conglomerate, is seeking a highly skilled Inventory & Cost Control Manager to join its dynamic team in Port Harcourt. This role is critical to ensuring efficient inventory management, robust cost control systems, and accurate financial reporting across our diverse business units, including Industrial Catering, Housekeeping Management, Cinemas, and Shopping Mall operations.
The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, and proven experience managing inventory systems within the hospitality or food service industry. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing operational efficiency, minimizing waste, and safeguarding the company's financial health.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and monitor inventory control systems across all business units
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and prevent losses
- Analyze cost trends and variances, providing actionable insights to management
- Establish and maintain standard costing procedures for food, beverage, and operational supplies
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to optimize stock levels and reduce wastage
- Prepare detailed cost control reports, budgets, and forecasts for senior management
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and industry best practices
- Train and supervise inventory and cost control staff across various locations
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
- Liaise with finance and audit teams to ensure accurate financial documentation
- Minimum of 7 years of cognate experience in inventory and cost control roles within top hospitality or food service brands
- Certified member of ACA or ACCA is mandatory
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management systems
- Proficiency in relevant accounting and inventory software
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Must be resident in Port Harcourt or willing to relocate at own cost
