About the Role
Sundry Markets Limited, the organization behind Marketsquare, Nigeria’s premier modern grocery retail chain, is looking for a dynamic and analytical Inventory Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be pivotal in maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing stock availability, and minimizing losses across our stores to deliver an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP and POS systems while monitoring all transactions including receipts, transfers, sales, and returns.
- Conduct daily reconciliations of physical inventory against system records, investigate discrepancies, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure optimum product availability, timely replenishment, and reduced stock-outs.
- Identify fast-moving, slow-moving, dormant, and obsolete inventory, recommending strategic markdowns or liquidations when necessary.
- Plan and coordinate daily cycle counts, departmental stock counts, and periodic physical inventory exercises.
- Collaborate closely with Internal Audit and Loss Prevention teams to monitor inventory shrinkage and strengthen overall stock controls.
- Minimum of a B.Sc. or HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related fields.
- Must possess a valid NYSC Discharge, Exemption certificate, or Exclusion letter.
- Proven professional experience as an Inventory or Stock Controller, ideally within the retail or FMCG sector.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
