About the Role
Akintola Williams Deloitte is seeking a highly skilled and experienced English to French Interpreter to support the Court of Justice. In this vital role, you will ensure seamless communication by providing precise interpretation services for Honorable Judges, staff members, and stakeholders during court sessions, deliberations, and high-level meetings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide simultaneous, consecutive, and other modes of interpretation from English to French during court sessions and meetings.
- Work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team of interpreters, maintaining booth manners and team coherence.
- Conduct terminological and reference research to ensure split-second accuracy and faithfulness to original source nuances.
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, professional ethics, and integrity in compliance with organizational rules.
- Master's degree plus a diploma or certificate in conference interpreting, or a University degree in conference interpreting from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional interpretation experience, including at least 4 years as a staff interpreter.
- Exceptional command of the target language and deep comprehension of diverse accents, cultural contexts, and regional nuances.
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and cross-cultural communication skills, with knowledge of ECOWAS standards being an advantage.
