About the Role

Acmecare Montessori Academy, a reputable private co-educational day school in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Information & Communication Technology Teacher to join our academic team. This role is ideal for an educator who can simplify technology concepts for young learners while fostering a strong foundation in digital literacy from an early age.

As an ICT Teacher at Acmecare Montessori Academy, you will be responsible for designing and delivering age-appropriate ICT lessons that align with the school's curriculum and modern educational standards. You will play a key role in equipping pupils with essential computer skills, nurturing curiosity in technology, and preparing them for a digitally driven world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging ICT lessons suitable for early childhood and primary school pupils
  • Teach basic computer operations, typing skills, and introductory programming concepts
  • Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials in line with the school curriculum
  • Assess and monitor pupils' progress through tests, assignments, and practical exercises
  • Maintain computer laboratory equipment and ensure a safe, functional learning environment
  • Integrate ICT tools and digital resources into other subject areas where applicable
  • Guide pupils in the responsible and safe use of technology and the internet
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school administration to enhance the overall learning experience
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school development programs
  • Prepare periodic reports on pupils' academic performance in ICT

Qualifications
  • M.Sc, B.Ed, or B.Sc (PGDE) in Computer Science, Education, or related field
  • 3–5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in a primary or early childhood setting
  • Strong knowledge of computer applications, basic coding, and digital tools
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Patience, creativity, and the ability to simplify technical concepts for young learners
  • Familiarity with Montessori teaching methods is an added advantage
