About the Role
Sunrose Consulting Limited is recruiting an outstanding Import / Export Manager on behalf of our client, a reputable clearing and forwarding company operating in Lagos and across West Africa. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee all cross-border shipping, regulatory compliance, and international logistics operations to ensure goods move legally, efficiently, and cost-effectively throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all shipments comply with local and international trade laws, tariffs, and licensing requirements while preparing or verifying invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
- Coordinate transport schedules seamlessly with customs brokers and shipping lines, actively tracking shipments to swiftly resolve border or port delays at Nigerian ports.
- Negotiate competitive pricing, contracts, and service level agreements with international suppliers, carriers, and warehousing partners.
- Monitor overall import and export expenses, calculate precise import cost prices and minimum export transfer prices, and mitigate operational supply chain risks.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate import and export coordinators, logistics specialists, and customs clearance personnel to drive high performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (an MBA or Master's degree will be an added advantage).
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in international trade, freight forwarding, or export-import operations within the Nigerian market.
- Comprehensive mastery of Incoterms, customs tariff coding, ERP systems, logistics software, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Exceptional negotiation, cross-cultural communication, problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail.
