About the Role
Sunbeth Global Concepts (SGC) is a reputable trading firm specializing in the export of premium quality raw cocoa beans and cashew from Nigeria. We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Officer to support and enforce compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards at our CNG daughter plant located in Idokpa, Edo State. In this vital role, you will ensure a safe working environment, promote a strong safety culture, and guarantee adherence to all applicable safety and environmental regulations in a high-hazard operational setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular HSE inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments (HIRA/JSA) across the plant to identify hazards and recommend mitigation measures.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and track the implementation of corrective actions.
- Maintain and inspect firefighting equipment, gas detection systems, and emergency response resources.
- Coordinate traffic controllers and oversee vehicular movement to ensure safe customer vehicle positioning and free traffic flow.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs for staff and contractors.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, emissions, and spill prevention.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, statistics, and reports for periodic performance dashboards.
- Enforce compliance with the Permit to Work (PTW) system, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and other critical safety procedures.
- Minimum of a first degree or HND in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or Management, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of HSE experience in oil and gas, CNG, LPG, or comparable high-hazard operations.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent recognized HSE certification is required.
- Valid training in firefighting, first aid, and emergency response.
- Strong knowledge of NMDPRA and NESREA safety and environmental requirements.
