About the Role
O.K. Isokariari & Sons Nigeria Limited, a leading Engineering, Procurement and Construction company with over 45 years of industry experience, is recruiting a dedicated HSE Officer. Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, safety codes, and regulatory standards across all operational and project sites
- Maintain accurate, audited records of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gear, ensuring full transparency and accountability in procurement and issuance
- Conduct regular safety audits, job safety analyses (JSAs), and comprehensive site inspections to identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventative measures
- Deliver safety orientations, emergency drills, and daily toolbox talks to staff and contractors to build safety awareness
- Ensure strict compliance with statutory environmental, health, and labor safety laws, maintaining complete documentation for regulatory inspections
- 2 to 4 years of proven HSE experience, preferably within construction or engineering sectors
- Professional certification in occupational health and safety (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent preferred)
- Strong administrative and record-keeping skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution abilities
- Proven capacity to remain calm under pressure and respond swiftly to emergencies
