About the Role
Penafort Energy Limited is a growing indigenous company operating within the downstream oil and gas and the food and beverage sectors in Nigeria. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer to promote a safe work environment, ensure strict regulatory compliance, and drive a robust safety culture across our operational facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive workplace health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine workplace inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe acts, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Perform thorough risk assessments and investigate workplace incidents, accidents, or near misses to recommend corrective actions.
- Organize and deliver engaging HSE induction, safety awareness sessions, and emergency preparedness training for all staff.
- Monitor environmental practices, support waste management initiatives, and maintain accurate compliance records.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, evacuation drills, and ensure safety equipment remains fully functional.
- Prepare periodic HSE performance reports and track key safety metrics for management review.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Recognized professional HSE certifications will be an added advantage.
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on HSE experience within manufacturing, energy, or related industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Nigerian workplace safety regulations, hazard identification, and risk management practices.
- Strong communication, training, analytical, and incident investigation skills.
