This role offers an exciting opportunity for a safety professional to play a key part in ensuring a secure, compliant, and efficient work environment on-site.

As the HSE Coordinator, you will act as the primary safety focal point within the contractor organization, ensuring that all procedures, standards, and specifications are strictly adhered to. You will play a vital role in promoting a proactive safety culture, supporting technical teams, and maintaining full compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for all safety-related matters within the contractor organization
  • Ensure adherence to procedures, specifications, and industry standards
  • Monitor and evaluate work performance at the power plant to ensure compliance with best practices
  • Promote safe working practices and immediately address or escalate potential hazards
  • Provide technical support to the preparation team for job planning and execution
  • Track and communicate HSE key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Lead HSE awareness initiatives and assist in developing and delivering relevant safety training
  • Ensure a safe working environment, particularly for hot work activities
  • Apply strong ethical standards to maintain quality control across all site operations
  • Implement Job Risk Assessments (JRAs), Permit to Work (PTW) systems, and mitigation measures in line with company HSE policies
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance on HSE programs within the designated site area
  • Stay updated on current HSE regulations, industry standards, and best practices to ensure optimal site safety

Qualifications
  • BSc/BEng or HND in an Engineering discipline or related field
  • Certification in Occupational/Construction Health & Safety (OSHA, CHST, STSC, or equivalent)
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in HSE roles
  • Experience within the turbine or power generation industry is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as OSHA, CalOSHA, EPA, and ISO standards
  • Ability to thrive within a large, multinational team environment
  • Capable of working independently while maintaining excellent interpersonal relationships
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities
