Acmecare Montessori Academy, a reputable private co-educational day school in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is seeking a passionate and experienced Home Economics Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons that equip students with practical life skills, creativity, and a solid foundation in home management, nutrition, and textiles.

Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Home Economics lessons in line with the school curriculum
- Teach practical skills including cooking, sewing, home management, and nutrition
- Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials
- Organize and supervise practical sessions, ensuring safety and proper use of equipment
- Evaluate student performance through tests, assignments, and practical assessments
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and interactive classroom environment
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support overall student development
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and staff meetings
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
- M.Sc, B.Ed, or B.Sc (with PGDE) in Home Economics or a related field
- 3–5 years of relevant teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of Home Economics curriculum and practical instruction methods
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for teaching young learners
- Ability to work collaboratively within a structured school environment
- Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is an advantage
