About the Role
Sany Nigeria is a global leader in heavy equipment and machinery, committed to maintaining the highest standards of workplace safety and environmental protection. We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer to join our dynamic team and champion our safety culture across multiple operational sites.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and update SANY Nigeria's HSE manual, procedures, and emergency response plans in alignment with local legislation and global standards.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA/JSA) across workshops, heavy machinery yards, and customer field service locations.
- Ensure all heavy equipment operations, including rigging, lifting, crane operations, assembly, and testing, strictly adhere to international safety protocols.
- Investigate workplace incidents, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future risks.
- Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian labor regulations, the Factories Act, State Safety Commissions, and SANY Group's global HSE directives.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on HSE experience within heavy equipment, automotive assembly, construction, mining, or oilfield services industries.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) and OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
- Active membership and certification with the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON).
- Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, incident investigation, emergency response planning, and workshop safety protocols.
- Proximity to operational hubs such as Asese, Ibafo, Mowe, Magboro, Arepo, and Berger is strongly preferred.
