About the Role
The Dangote Group, one of Africa's most diversified business conglomerates, seeks an experienced Head of Tracking & Control to oversee fleet management operations. This strategic role ensures effective monitoring of all DSR Transport vehicles, optimizes operational efficiency, and maintains the highest standards of safety and compliance across our logistics network.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and track all company vehicles, ensuring proper location tracking, route compliance, and operational efficiency
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic reports on vehicle locations, speed violations, usage patterns, and key operational metrics
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to enhance driver safety and reduce vehicle deterioration
- Report and escalate incidents involving driver misconduct, vehicle accidents, regulatory violations, and operational concerns to management
- Conduct periodic vehicle inspections and recommend corrective maintenance actions
- Oversee fleet presentation, accident reporting, damage assessments, and servicing processes
- Liaise with drivers and Fleet Managers to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction
- Provide cross-functional support to other business units as required
- Bachelor's degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Social Sciences, or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience in fleet management, tracking, or related roles
- Membership with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) or equivalent professional body
- Proficiency with vehicle tracking and scheduling software applications
- Comprehensive knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle licensing procedures, and transport regulations
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
