About the Role
District 9 Branded Residences (Velmonti Palace), Abuja's upcoming landmark ultra-luxury destination, is opening its doors to world-class hospitality talent. We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Head Steward to lead our stewarding and kitchen sanitation operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency across all food and beverage outlets within our prestigious establishment, setting a new benchmark for luxury hospitality in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee all daily stewarding operations, ensuring pristine cleanliness of all kitchens, banqueting areas, and food service outlets.
- Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate the stewarding team to deliver exceptional service aligned with luxury hospitality standards.
- Maintain strict inventory control of chinaware, glassware, silverware, and cleaning chemicals, conducting regular audits to minimize breakage and loss.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including HACCP guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with executive chefs, F&B managers, and housekeeping teams to support seamless banquet and restaurant service execution.
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate promptly with the engineering department for timely repairs of dishwashing and kitchen machinery.
- Implement cost-control measures for cleaning supplies, water, and energy usage without compromising sanitation standards.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in a stewarding or kitchen management role within a 4-star or 5-star luxury hotel, resort, or high-end residential hospitality setting.
- Possess relevant academic qualifications in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of HACCP standards, chemical handling safety, and comprehensive kitchen sanitation procedures.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
