About the Role
Zipline is transforming global healthcare and logistics through the world's largest autonomous delivery network. Operating a rapidly expanding network of distribution sites across Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria, and Côte d’Ivoire, we are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Service Delivery, Africa. In this vital leadership role, you will ensure every distribution site operates seamlessly from day one, setting unified operating standards, driving continuous improvement, and partnering closely with Country Directors to achieve operational excellence at a sustainable cost per delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and own the comprehensive operating standards library for the African network, embedding standardized practices across all active and upcoming distribution sites.
- Establish rigorous quarterly site certification processes and publish transparent performance results.
- Lead in-country operations excellence teams, defining competency standards for Site Leads and Shift Team Leads while collaborating with People teams to build scalable talent pipelines.
- Define precise site capacity envelopes based on flight operations constraints and empirical site data.
- Establish core operating metrics, agree on regional targets with Country Directors, and drive accountability to narrow performance gaps.
- Serve as the primary operations counterpart for Engineering, prioritizing field issues and product requests.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience managing distributed physical operations to strict written standards within airline ground operations, logistics networks, industrial supply chains, or healthcare networks.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing standards and certification systems from scratch.
- Demonstrated success leading regional or country teams through cross-functional collaboration and dotted-line authority.
- Exceptional data-driven decision-making skills with the ability to identify operational variance and enforce accountability.
