About the Role
Moniepoint Inc. is a leading financial technology company digitising Africa’s real economy by building a comprehensive financial ecosystem for businesses. We are looking for an exceptional Head of Engineering to lead our Sales and Marketing Tools domain, overseeing MonieCRM—the operating system for our 50,000-strong sales network—alongside our marketing technology stack and rewards platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and scale the engineering organisation responsible for MonieCRM, wallet systems, commission calculations, and marketing automation.
- Drive legacy system modernisation and re-architecture projects to ensure seamless reliability for over 20 million users.
- Ensure absolute financial correctness in high-throughput distributed systems handling wallets, payouts, and commissions.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of 20+ engineers and engineering managers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and ownership.
- 10-15 years of overall software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
- 5+ years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java and Spring Boot code.
- At least 5 years of experience managing managers within large engineering organisations.
- Proven expertise in building complex, high-throughput distributed systems and navigating legacy migrations at scale.
- Strong background in fintech, payments, or systems where financial correctness is critical.
- Own the core platform powering the commercial engine of one of Africa's fastest-growing digital banks.
