About the Role
Megamound Investment Limited, a leading Nigerian conglomerate with a strong presence in construction, real estate development, dredging, and financial intermediation, is seeking a highly skilled Head of Accounts & Finance to join its executive leadership team. This role is central to shaping the company's financial direction, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening internal controls that support long-term profitability and growth. The ideal candidate will bring strategic financial expertise and strong leadership skills to oversee the company's accounting operations across its diverse business portfolio.
As Head of Accounts & Finance, you will work closely with senior management and department heads to steer financial planning, reporting, and analysis. You will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization's fiscal health while providing data-driven insights that inform key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the finance department in preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and manage corporate budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Oversee tax planning and ensure strict compliance with statutory regulations and audit requirements.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team to maintain high standards of financial discipline and reporting.
- Analyze financial data to provide strategic insights and recommendations for cost optimization and investment.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial strategy with overall business objectives.
- Strengthen internal control systems to mitigate financial risk and ensure transparency.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, CPA) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing.
- At least 2 years of proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Prior experience in the Real Estate or Construction industry is a distinct advantage.
