About the Role
Shawsand Medical Centre, a world-class medical facility in Port Harcourt, is seeking a qualified and dynamic Head, Medical Laboratory to lead our diagnostic services. Equipped with advanced medical technology and a computerized workflow, our hospital delivers exceptional patient care through a dedicated team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise day-to-day medical laboratory operations, workflows, and departmental staff.
- Ensure the accurate, timely, and reliable processing and reporting of laboratory results.
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control and quality assurance procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels for laboratory equipment, reagents, and consumables.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements, including MLSCN guidelines.
- Liaise with hospital management and medical staff to support continuous service improvement.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS).
- Current registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) with a valid practicing licence.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory setting.
- Demonstrated leadership, administrative, and supervisory skills.
- Residency in Port Harcourt, particularly around Obigbo/Oyigbo or nearby areas, is an added advantage.
- Competitive monthly salary ranging from N200,000 to N350,000, negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
