About the Role
Pagatech Limited is pioneering financial inclusion and driving a cashless society across Africa with our innovative mobile payments platform, Paga. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head, Internal Audit & Compliance to lead our internal audit and compliance functions while serving as the Chief Compliance Officer. In this crucial dual mandate, you will provide independent assurance on governance, internal controls, and risk management, while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory laws and our robust AML/CFT/CPF framework.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the principal liaison with the Board Audit Committee on all internal audit and compliance matters.
- Develop and execute a risk-based annual internal audit plan to assess financial, operational, and technology controls.
- Lead the regulatory compliance function and maintain oversight of obligations under the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
- Manage the comprehensive AML/CFT/CPF program, including KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, and suspicious transaction reporting.
- Coordinate regulatory correspondence, examinations, and drive the remediation of any identified findings.
- Conduct risk-based compliance monitoring and deliver organization-wide regulatory training.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Law, or a related discipline.
- Recognized professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in internal audit, compliance, risk management, or financial services.
- Proven ability to independently manage audit functions and engage effectively with C-suite executives and board committees.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations, internal controls, and financial crime prevention frameworks.
- Possession of or willingness to obtain the Certificate in Microfinance Banking by the CIBN.
