About the Role

UAC Foods Limited, a joint venture between UAC of Nigeria Plc and Tiger Brands Limited, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Haulage Supervisor to join its Snacks Category team. This role is central to ensuring the efficient movement of finished goods such as Gala, Funtime, and Snaps products, supporting seamless distribution across the country while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

As the Haulage Supervisor, you will manage day-to-day transportation operations, coordinate with transporters and forklift service providers, and ensure that company-owned and third-party vehicles operate efficiently and in compliance with statutory requirements. You will play a key role in optimizing fleet performance, maintaining accurate reporting, and driving continuous improvement in haulage operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily operations of transporters, forklift providers, and company-owned vehicles.
  • Ensure timely availability of haulage vehicles for customer deliveries.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules to support efficient distribution of finished goods.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure operational readiness.
  • Monitor vehicle movement and address transportation challenges proactively.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance schedules to maximize fleet availability.
  • Ensure valid licenses, insurance, and statutory documentation for all vehicles.
  • Monitor forklift performance and maintenance schedules.
  • Manage transporter and service provider performance against SLAs.
  • Conduct periodic compliance reviews, including GIT and insurance validity checks.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly haulage reports.
  • Generate reports on diesel usage, vehicle tracking, and transporter performance.
  • Review and process transporter invoices via SAP Service Entry Sheets (SES).
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and safe fleet operating practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for operational excellence.

Qualifications
  • B.Sc. or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in transportation scheduling, warehousing, logistics, or distribution, preferably in FMCG.
  • Good knowledge of inventory control and transportation scheduling.
  • Strong understanding of haulage and fleet operations.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Strong team management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
