About the Role
AMO Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited, a market leader in the Nigerian poultry industry committed to delivering exceptional Day Old Chicks and profitable farming solutions, is looking for a skilled Hatchery Officer. In this role based in Awe, Oyo, you will play a critical part in maintaining our high standards of product quality by overseeing daily hatchery operations, ensuring strict biosecurity compliance, and optimizing incubation processes.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and regulate incubation and hatching processes to maximize yield and chick quality.
- Ensure proper handling, grading, and storage of fertile eggs upon arrival.
- Maintain strict hatchery hygiene and comprehensive biosecurity standards to prevent contamination.
- Monitor climate control systems including temperature, humidity, and ventilation.
- Assist with professional chick processing, vaccination, and timely dispatch activities.
- Record daily hatchery operational data accurately and prepare routine management reports.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report equipment or operational issues to management promptly.
- Ensure strict compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and safety guidelines.
- HND or B.Sc Degree in Animal Science, General Agriculture, Veterinary Technology, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working in a commercial hatchery or poultry operations.
- Solid working knowledge of modern hatchery equipment and incubation technologies.
- Strong organizational abilities with exceptional record-keeping and communication skills.
- Resilience and the ability to work under pressure and in shift rotations when required.
