About the Role
Rugby School Nigeria, the prestigious Rugby School Group's third international sister school located in the world-class development of Eko Atlantic in Lagos, is seeking a passionate and dynamic German Language Teacher. Set to launch in September 2025 with an initial Sixth Form programme, our institution synthesises a renowned British education with rich African culture to create a transformative learning environment for students aged 11 to 18. We are looking for an exceptional educator who can deliver engaging language instruction on either a permanent or contracted basis, fostering global citizenship and linguistic excellence among our vibrant student community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality, engaging German lessons to students aged 11 to 18, ensuring inclusive and differentiated learning.
- Teach at least one additional modern foreign language, preferably Spanish or French, based on curriculum demands.
- Design innovative lesson plans and assessments aligned with international educational standards and the Rugby School ethos.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain comprehensive academic records.
- Participate actively in co-curricular activities, boarding life support, and school events to enrich the holistic student experience.
- Collaborate effectively with department colleagues to curate modern, culturally relevant language learning resources.
- A recognized degree in German Language, Modern Foreign Languages, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or local equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching German at secondary or high school level, with the ability to offer an additional language such as French or Spanish.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and intercultural competency.
- Familiarity with British curriculum standards is highly advantageous.
