About the Role
Viju Industries Nigeria Limited, a renowned and leading firm in the beverage production industry, is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Generator Operator to join our dynamic facility management team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of our heavy-duty power systems to support uninterrupted industrial production.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, monitor, and maintain natural gas and diesel generators rated above 800KW to ensure reliable power supply for the entire facility.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on all power generation equipment to prevent downtime.
- Monitor fuel consumption, engine temperatures, oil pressure, and other critical operational parameters daily.
- Perform timely repairs and coordinate with external technicians or parts suppliers when major overhauls are required.
- Maintain accurate logs of generator runtime, fuel levels, maintenance schedules, and spare parts inventory.
- Adhere strictly to company safety protocols, environmental regulations, and occupational health standards while handling heavy industrial machinery.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven hands-on maintenance and operational experience with natural gas or diesel generators rated above 800KW.
- Relevant technical certification, trade test, or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of heavy-duty engine mechanics, electrical control panels, and synchronization systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure during power emergencies.
