About the Role

Grand Oak Limited is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fleet Tracking Officer to join our logistics operations team. This role is critical to ensuring complete visibility of trucks in transit, minimizing delivery risks, and guaranteeing safe, on-time deliveries of company products from warehouses to customers and depots nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor all trucks in transit using GPS tracking systems and fleet management platforms.
  • Track truck locations, movement, speed, and estimated time of arrival (ETA).
  • Monitor truck seals and delivery milestones where applicable, ensuring visibility until delivery completion.
  • Maintain continuous communication with drivers and transport providers regarding trip progress.
  • Update warehouses, customer service, and sales teams on delivery status and progress.
  • Escalate delays, breakdowns, accidents, security threats, or unauthorized stops promptly.
  • Support route optimization and recovery plans when disruptions occur.
  • Immediately report truck diversions, hijacking, theft, accidents, or prolonged delays.
  • Maintain detailed incident logs and follow up until full resolution.
  • Coordinate with Security, transport providers, and the logistics operations team on incident management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to approved routes and journey management procedures.
  • Monitor transporter compliance with company transportation and safety standards.
  • Coordinate pre-trip inspections for every truck before shipment assignment.
  • Verify that GIT insurance for all transporters is valid and meets minimum coverage standards.
  • Produce daily truck movement, delivery status, and KPI reports.
  • Document route deviations, detention time, and delivery exceptions accurately.
  • Maintain accurate records of communications and transit activities across all depots nationwide.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in logistics, fleet monitoring, or transportation operations.
  • Strong knowledge of GPS tracking and fleet management systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and manage time-sensitive situations under pressure.
