Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing schedules for all fleet vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Ensure maximum uptime and operational readiness of plant machinery and vehicles
  • Coordinate the deployment of fleet assets to various project sites and business units
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan
  • Monitor fuel consumption, spare parts inventory, and maintenance costs to optimise budget performance
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle and equipment maintenance history, repairs, and inspections
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of technicians, drivers, and maintenance personnel
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers for procurement of spare parts, tools, and third-party repair services
  • Prepare periodic reports on fleet and plant performance, maintenance costs, and equipment condition
  • Investigate equipment failures and breakdowns, implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Ensure all fleet and plant operations align with company policies and industry best practices

Qualifications
  • B.Eng., B.Sc., or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in fleet management, plant engineering, or heavy equipment maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle and heavy machinery mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and fleet management software
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and team supervision capabilities
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage
