About the Role
Strivo Labs is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Financial Controller to oversee our financial reporting, treasury, tax compliance, and audit functions. In this critical role, you will ensure the integrity of our financial records, strengthen internal controls, and provide strategic financial insights to executive management as we scale our innovative fintech solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate IFRS-compliant financial statements, managing the month-end close process and variance analysis.
- Oversee loan book and portfolio accounting, reconciling loan management systems with payment gateways and bank accounts.
- Manage daily cash flow, liquidity planning, lender covenants, and debt obligations.
- Drive fundraising readiness through financial modeling, data room preparation, and due diligence execution.
- Design and enforce robust internal controls, coordinating external audits and addressing control gaps.
- Ensure timely statutory tax filings (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE) and compliance with CBN and FCCPC regulations.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and mentor the finance and accounts team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline with a mandatory ACA (ICAN) or ACCA qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in a financial leadership role within fintech, digital lending, or microfinance.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising readiness and debt or equity financing execution.
- Advanced proficiency in IFRS (including IFRS 9), Nigerian tax laws, and CBN/FCCPC reporting requirements.
- Expertise in advanced Excel, ERP systems (Sage, QuickBooks, Odoo), and loan management platforms.
