About the Role
Fadac Resources is seeking a strategic and results-driven Financial Controller on behalf of our esteemed client in the Nigerian retail and FMCG sector. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee all financial operations, optimize cash flow, strengthen internal controls, and provide actionable insights to support executive decision-managing processes. The ideal candidate will combine rigorous technical accounting expertise with hands-on commercial acumen to drive profitability and safeguard company assets across multi-branch operations.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and comprehensive management reports.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, variance analysis, and performance monitoring to support organizational goals.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, bank balances, and liquidity to ensure optimal funds availability for daily business operations.
- Manage inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, stock movements, shrinkage, and wastage in close collaboration with operations teams.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce robust internal financial controls to prevent fraud, minimize risk, and ensure asset protection.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax laws, statutory obligations, IFRS accounting standards, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring seamless documentation and prompt implementation of corrective measures.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
- Mandatory professional accounting qualification such as ICAN or ACCA.
- 7 to 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management or supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated industry experience within retail, supermarkets, FMCG, consumer goods, or multi-branch operational environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP platforms, and modern financial management systems.
