About the Role
The Heart for Humanity Initiative (HHI) is a dynamic, women-led, and youth-driven non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the well-being and resilience of vulnerable communities across Nigeria. We are currently seeking a meticulous and driven Finance and Compliance Officer to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will oversee our financial management, budget tracking, and institutional compliance, ensuring that all donor funds and organizational resources are utilized efficiently and transparently to maximize our social impact.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, and payroll processing.
- Ensure strict adherence to organizational financial policies, donor guidelines, and Nigerian regulatory frameworks.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and funding partners.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and reconciling accounts.
- Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and identify financial variances or potential risks.
- Maintain comprehensive compliance documentation and assist in strengthening internal control systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience in financial management, preferably within the NGO or non-profit sector.
- Professional certification or progress toward certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, statutory remittances, and NGO regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities with high ethical standards.
