About the Role
Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI) is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to assisting civilian victims of crises, conflicts, and economic collapse. We are currently looking for a detail-driven Finance Assistant to join our team in Nigeria to support our mission of helping affected populations regain independence and dignity. In this vital role, you will work closely with the Finance Officer to ensure smooth financial operations, strict compliance with internal policies, and accurate record-keeping across all base activities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the daily cashbox operations, ensure secure cash custody, and conduct routine physical cash counts with the Finance Officer.
- Process cash payments, disbursements, and advances accurately while strictly adhering to established organizational guidelines.
- Verify that all invoices and financial documents comply with PUI regulations and donor policies prior to data entry.
- Record daily cash expenses into accounting systems and assign correct budget and accounting codes.
- Maintain physical and electronic archives of financial records, vouchers, and scanned documents in line with internal standards.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing organized financial documentation and reports.
- Degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in cash management, bookkeeping, or basic accounting, preferably within an NGO or non-profit setting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computerized accounting systems.
- High level of integrity, strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to financial security protocols.
