About the Role
Moniepoint is a leading financial technology company digitising Africa's real economy by building a comprehensive financial ecosystem that equips businesses with essential payment, banking, credit, and business management tools. We are looking for a meticulous and observant Field Verification Officer to join our team, responsible for conducting on-ground verifications that safeguard the integrity of our lending and customer onboarding processes nationwide.
Key Responsibilities- Embark on physical visitation to potential borrowers' business premises to evaluate business books, inventory, and turnover
- Ensure all verifications are completed thoroughly, in line with standard operating procedures and within specified timelines
- Conduct physical visits to confirm residential or business address information provided by applicants
- Visit loan guarantors, employee references, and other relevant parties to confirm awareness of their responsibilities and ensure they can be easily located when necessary
- Prepare comprehensive, accurate, and timely reports on daily verification activities
- Leverage multiple information sources at verification locations to confirm the accuracy and legitimacy of data provided
- Identify and report any red flags or inconsistencies that may indicate potential fraud or default risk
- Perform other related duties as assigned by a supervisor
- A minimum of a B.Sc/H.ND in any business-related discipline
- In-depth geographical knowledge of the local environment
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in credit risk or field verification is an added advantage
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Proven simple/complex analytical skills
