About the Role

Netcom Africa Limited, a pioneering ICT and telecommunications provider in West Africa since 2004, is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Field Service Rigger to join our technical operations team. This role is critical to the delivery of top-tier connectivity and security services, ensuring our infrastructure meets the highest international standards of reliability and performance.

As a Field Service Rigger, you will be responsible for executing field-related installation, maintenance, and support activities across our range of connectivity solutions, including Fiber, VSAT, DIA, and BIA services, as well as enterprise security applications. You will work closely with supervisors, clients, and partners to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality service delivery in line with Netcom Africa’s ISO9001:2008 and TL9000 certified standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out field service activities including survey, installation, relocation, and retrieval of equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on connectivity and security systems.
  • Provide technical assistance to partners, clients, and internal teams.
  • Adhere strictly to safety-first policies during all field operations.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks according to agreed client schedules.
  • Provide real-time updates to supervisors/HOD from task initiation to completion.
  • Keep clients informed of ongoing activities and confirm completion with proper documentation.
  • Submit accurate and timely activity reports in line with FSE procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed according to company-defined technical standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience in the telecom or ISP industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for report and data documentation.
  • Basic engineering knowledge with RF engineering/installation exposure.
  • Ability to operate and interpret data from tools such as Spectrum Analyser, Multi-meter, Ground Tester, and BW Tester.
  • Strong communication skills in English and native languages, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent teamwork, customer service, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of IT, basic networking, electrical circuits, and telecom power systems is an added advantage.
