About the Role
First Atlantic Schools, a leading international school located in Oke Ota-ona, Ikorodu, is seeking a dedicated and skilled English Teacher to join our growing academic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about nurturing young minds and helping students explore, expand, and excel in their command of the English language.
As an English Teacher at First Atlantic Schools, you will play a key role in developing students' reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills through engaging, well-structured lessons. You will work closely with the academic team to ensure that teaching methods align with the school's values of academic excellence and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the school's curriculum
- Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages participation
- Incorporate Montessori teaching principles to support individualized learning
- Develop instructional materials and resources to enhance student understanding
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school administration to improve academic outcomes
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student performance and development
- Maintain accurate records of students' academic progress and attendance
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development programs
- NCE, B.Ed., or PGDE in English or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably at the primary or secondary level
- Demonstrated experience in Montessori teaching methods
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Passion for education and commitment to student development
