About the Role
Adonville School, a reputable private co-educational institution in Baruwa, Ipaja, Lagos State, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable English Teacher to join its academic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in nurturing students' reading, writing, and communication skills across various educational levels, from foundational classes to secondary school.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English Language lessons in line with the school's curriculum
- Assess and monitor students' progress through assignments, tests, and examinations
- Develop students' reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation
- Prepare lesson notes, schemes of work, and other necessary teaching materials
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school management to improve teaching methods and student outcomes
- Participate in school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities as required
- Maintain accurate records of students' attendance, grades, and behavioral reports
- NCE, HND, B.Ed., B.Sc., or B.A. in English Language, Education, or a related field
- Prior teaching experience is an added advantage but not compulsory
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for teaching
