About the Role

Peace Centre Academy is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable English and Literature Teacher to join our team of highly qualified educators. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons that inspire a love for language and literature while equipping students with essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving.

As a member of our academic team, you will work within a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment designed to help every student thrive. You will play a key role in shaping students' academic growth through creative teaching methods, continuous assessment, and collaborative engagement with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver interactive, learner-focused English and Literature lessons tailored to students' varying abilities and needs.
  • Employ modern, creative teaching strategies that foster analytical thinking, innovation, and curiosity.
  • Continuously monitor, assess, and record student performance through tests, classwork, assignments, and constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, parents, and school stakeholders to support students' academic and personal development.
  • Establish and maintain a disciplined, safe, and engaging classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
  • Prepare and update lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching materials in line with curriculum standards.
  • Encourage a culture of reading, creative writing, and critical analysis among students.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in English Language or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • 2 - 10 years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Possession of, or current pursuit of, a TRCN certification or an education-related degree/certificate.
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver effective, result-oriented lessons.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to students' holistic development.
