About the Role
PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, a renowned multinational consumer goods leader and manufacturer of trusted household brands such as Imperial Leather, Cussons Baby, Morning Fresh, and Thermocool, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Electrical Technician to join our dynamic production team. In this vital role, you will ensure optimal plant performance, maintain rigorous safety standards, and provide hands-on leadership to junior electrical staff on your shift.
Key Responsibilities- Respond promptly and effectively to all electrical breakdowns during assigned shifts to minimize downtime.
- Conduct thorough shift handovers, communicating plant status clearly with incoming and outgoing technicians.
- Optimize the utilization and efficiency of the electrical team on shift.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide on-the-job training for subordinate staff.
- Enforce strict workplace cleanliness, safety protocols, and company compliance standards.
- Liaise effectively with day-shift electrical technicians and the Electrical Engineer to align maintenance goals.
- Manage team discipline, communicate clear job responsibilities, and conduct systematic performance appraisals.
- Advise management on modern technological developments and improvements within your area of responsibility.
- Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for industrial electrical systems and machinery.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience supervising junior technicians.
