About the Role

Grand Oak Limited is looking for a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems within our plant, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install electrical systems including wiring, switches, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers based on technical specifications and wiring diagrams.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify faulty wiring, malfunctioning equipment, or outdated components, and carry out timely repairs or replacements.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using diagnostic tools and technical expertise to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and industry electrical codes, implementing safety measures such as grounding systems and circuit protection devices.
  • Support upgrades and modifications to electrical systems to accommodate new technologies or increased power demands.
  • Collaborate with mechanical technicians, engineers, safety managers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with overall plant operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including installation plans, maintenance schedules, repair logs, and system modifications.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and promote a culture of workplace safety.
  • Independently manage electrical systems during assigned shifts.
  • Capture and analyze performance data related to electrical operations to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • OND in Electrical & Electronics; HND with Higher Grade preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a process industry.
  • Experience in a bottling plant is a strong advantage.
  • Must have prior experience as a permanent employee only (no contract or third-party engagements).
  • Applicants must not be older than 45 years.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong verbal and comprehension abilities.
  • Proven skills in preventive maintenance of electrical switchgear units such as PCC, MCC, and Starters.
  • Knowledge of utility equipment including air compressors, boilers, diesel generators, water treatment systems, ETP, boreholes, and lighting systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Fast learner with adaptability to organizational changes and new developments.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols.
