About the Role
Dangote Group is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our team at the Onne Port Terminal. This role is responsible for executing the maintenance, installation, and continuous improvement of electrical equipment, systems, and facilities that support our large-scale industrial operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a solid understanding of safety and quality standards.
As part of one of Africa's most diversified business conglomerates, you will play a key role in ensuring that our electrical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with industry regulations, contributing directly to the seamless functioning of our port and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of engineering tasks using computer-assisted design and engineering software and equipment
- Collaborate with other departments to discuss existing or potential engineering products and projects
- Prepare electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, and topographical maps to ensure installations meet standards and customer requirements
- Conduct detailed calculations to establish manufacturing and installation standards or specifications
- Direct and coordinate installation, manufacturing, maintenance, documentation, support, and testing activities to ensure compliance with codes and specifications
- Write reports and compile data on existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies
- Prepare specifications for the purchase of electrical equipment and materials
- Supervise and train project team members
- Maintain electrical equipment, panels, motors, and related systems
- Collaborate with a variety of technicians across departments
- Apply strong knowledge of electrical standards in daily operations
- Follow and implement SOPs, SWPs, and OJTs
- Maintain and follow ISO documentation systematically
- HND or BSc in Electrical Engineering
- 2-9 years of post-qualification experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with hands-on exposure to large electrical machinery installation
- Excellent knowledge of cement products and cement manufacturing processes
- Expert knowledge of maintenance management methods, predictive inspection tools, and Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering and maintenance practices
- Good understanding of safety legislation and regulatory rules
- Good knowledge of ISO 9000 standards and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
