About the Role
IOTA Group is seeking a skilled and dedicated In-House Drilling Engineer to join our operations in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will provide comprehensive engineering support, well planning, and operational oversight to ensure the successful delivery of complex drilling projects in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities- Design well trajectories based on reservoir targets, local constraints, and ISCWSA positioning uncertainty calculations.
- Perform anti-collision calculations, prepare spider plots, travelling cylinders, and establish non-magnetic spacing requirements.
- Select and propose Bottom Hole Assemblies (BHAs), including tendency analysis and jar placement optimization.
- Conduct hydraulic simulations, torque and drag analysis, and bit TFA calculations for Steerable Motor applications.
- Utilize advanced modeling software to predict critical harmonic rotary speeds and minimize well tortuosity.
- Provide technical support to the client drilling department and assist rig-site teams in collision-risk environments.
- Validate, QC, and sign off on final trajectories, MWD measurements, and gyro surveys while managing comprehensive end-of-well reports.
- University degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5 to 10 years of proven experience in an onshore or in-house drilling engineering role.
- Proficiency in industry-standard engineering software including DOX, DrillPlan, Compass, WellPlan, WellArchitect, and JewelSuite Well Engineering.
